Inorganic Materials, Magnetism and Superconductivity
Our research at the interface of solid state chemistry, physics and materials science, is focused on crystal chemistry - physical property relations in inorganic compounds. One special interest concerns materials with highly correlated electrons, among them magnetic compounds, Mott insulators, and iron based high-Tc superconductors.
The discovery of new materials with so far unknown crystal structures, as well as compositional tuning of the properties of existing materials through solid solution are our main tasks. We extensively research iron arsenide superconductors focusing on basic and application-oriented aspects.
