• 13.10.2023 — This year, the symposium "Fachübergreifende moderne Analytik – innovative Nutzung analytischer Verfahren" will be held for the sixth time. The venue this year is the Jägerkaserne in Sonthofen.

 

• 28.08.2023 — Nura has joined the group for her bachelor thesis. She will be working under the supervision of Alex and will take a closer look on the possibility of introducing a CH2F-group in C-H acidic compounds.

 

• 21.08.2023 — Malte has joined the group for his master thesis and will be working on the optimization of the polymerization process for highly fluorine containing polymers.

 

• 23.07.2023 — Alex is heading to Quebec City to give a presentation on his latest research at the 23rd ISFC.

 

• 16.06.2023 — Christian and Jonathan are heading to Heidelberg to join the Materials for Organic Electronics Conference 2023.

 

• 25.04.2023 — Jer-Ray has joined the group and will be working on the synthesis of picolylphosphine-based mixed-metal complexes.

 

• 28.03.2023 — Christian and Jonathan are travelling to San Sebastian to present their most recent findings at the EWPC19. Christian will present a poster and Jonathan will give a talk.

 

• 15.03.2023 — Radia has joined the group and will be working with Alex on the synthesis of a wide variety of fluoromethylated azobenzenes and investigation of their photophysical properties in comparison to their methylated counterparts.

 

• 07.03.2023 — Erik is doing an internship under the supervision of Alex and is working on the fluoromethylation of C-H acidic compounds.

 

• 28.02.2023 — Maxi has joined the group to work on his thesis, necessary to become a teacher. He will be working on the synthesis of 8-hydroxyquinoline-based phosphine oxide ligands and their respective complexes.

 

• 25.01.2023 — New publication in Advanced Functional Materials where we study the luminescence behaviour of a flexible phosphine oxide and the effect of its coordination to a zinc metal center.

• 09.11.2022 — Tilo has joined the group and will be working on the synthesis of building blocks with a high fluorine content starting from 3-bromomethyl-3-hydroxymethyl oxetane (BMHMO).

 

• 07.11.2022 — Christian has rejoined the group for his master thesis. He will be working on the synthesis and luminescence behavior of pyridine-based phosphine oxides and their complexes.

 

• 14.09.2022 — Jonathan is travelling to Rostock to present recent results at the European Workshop on Phosphorus Chemistry (EWPC18)

 

• 14.08.2022 — Alex will be joining the Kornath group on a trip to Berlin to present a poster on the fluoromethylating agent Superfluormethyl at the ESFC 2022.

 

• 25.07.2022 — Alex and Jonathan are travelling to Graz to present some of their work on posters at the IRIS16.

 

• 13.05.2022 —  Sadu has joined the group for an internship with Alex. She will be working on fluorine-containing polymer building blocks.

 

• 10.05.2022 — Yusuf has joined the group for an internship with Jonathan. The goal of his internship is to determine the influence of swapping out different atoms and moieties in the collidinylphosphine oxide scaffold.

 

• 21.03.2022 — Christian has joined the group for an internship with Jonathan. He will be working on the intramolecular fixation of the picolylphosphine oxide scaffold.

 

• 15.03.2022 — Matthias has returned to the group for his master thesis. He will be working on the synthesis of fluorinated and perfluorinated azobenzenes and is having a look at their photochemical properties compared to their nonfluorinated counterparts.

 

• 14.02.2022 — Patrick has started his internship with Alex. He will be working on the synthesis of nonafluoro-tert-butyl containing polymers for 3D printing.

 

• 11.02.2022 —New Publication in Chemistry Open. We have observed unexpected reactivity of bisquinaldinylphenylphosphine with coinage metals.

• 31.01.2022 — After a fruitful stay with us, Maksim is heading back to Novosibirsk today. We wish him all the best for the remaining time of his PhD!
